These terms cover your use of the SwiftX desktop application ("SwiftX", "the app"). Installing or using the app means you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.
1. Licence
SwiftX is released under the MIT Licence. That licence grants you the right to use, copy, modify, and redistribute the software, and it is the document that governs if anything here appears to conflict with it. Nothing in these terms takes away a right the MIT Licence gives you.
2. What you get
SwiftX runs entirely on your own device. There is no SwiftX account, no server to sign in to, and no subscription. You may use it for personal or commercial purposes at no charge.
3. Your data
SwiftX stores your orbit items and settings on your PC and sends nothing on its own, apart from asking for a website's icon when you put a web link on the orbit. The full description of what the app does and does not do with what you put into it is in the privacy policy and on the Privacy page inside Settings, and it forms part of these terms.
Your data is yours. Because it stays on your device, keeping backups of it is your responsibility — Settings ▸ General can export your setup at any time.
4. What you agree not to do
- Use SwiftX to break the law, or to help anyone else do so.
- Present a modified build as the official SwiftX, or use the SwiftX name or mark in a way that suggests the project endorses something it does not.
- Attempt to use SwiftX to reach data or systems you are not authorised to reach.
5. Other people's software and websites
SwiftX launches apps, files, folders, and links you choose. Anything that opens as a result is governed by its own terms, not these — the project has no control over it and takes no responsibility for it.
6. No warranty
SwiftX is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. The project does not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular use of yours.
7. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the authors and copyright holders are not liable for any claim, damages, or other liability — including lost data, lost profits, or any indirect or consequential loss — arising from the software or its use, whether in an action of contract, tort, or otherwise.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under the law that applies to you, and if you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
8. Changes
These terms may change as the app does. The current version is always the one in the project's TERMS.md, mirrored on this page, and its date is at the top. Continuing to use SwiftX after a change means you accept the revised terms.
9. Contact
Questions about these terms, or about the privacy policy, belong in the project's issue tracker.
